Pre-season
Mediterranean Coast April 26 to May 3 |
|
Campiglia Marittima |
|
$1750.00 |
There is an area of southern Tuscany that stretches along the
Mediterranean coast which is also known as the “Maremma”, home
to many of the things for which this region is treasured. The
pristine countryside, its soft, rolling hills dotted with
farms and forests is gentle on the eyes and soul. The roads
which leave the coastal plains and wind back into the hills
are wonderfully free of traffic, allowing cyclists to feel as
though they belong here. And if fact we do. Our corner of
Tuscany has been discovered by cyclists from all over the
world and this positive presence can be felt locally. We’re
not just tolerated, a sensation that all cyclists know well,
we’re welcomed. Total weekly mileage: approximately 550 to 650
kilometres. |

Early Summer Vescovado-Siena and the Val d’Orcia
May 31 to June 7 |
|
Vescovado |
|
$3000.00 |
|
|
If there’s an enchanted land for cyclists it’s the Crete area
south of Siena which includes the Val d’Orcia as well. This is
the big sky country of Tuscany, picture winding, cypress lined
lanes and contoured countryside and you have an idea. Rolling
hills of grain, vineyards and endless, quiet roads
characterize the Crete. I use a family run country inn 17
kilometres south of Siena in a borgo known as Lupompesi, just
outside a tiny village called Vescovado. The rooms are
sumptuous and the kitchen superb, the riding is stunning
though hilly. Total weekly mileage: approximately 500 to 600
kilometres. |

The Dolomites July 5 to 12 |
|
Alleghe |
|
$2400.00 |
|
|
This will make it nine years that I’ve been guiding in the
Dolomites. The last five have been at the charming Sport Hotel
Europa in Alleghe at the foot of the Fedaia pass. The
mountains are where cycle racing’s most passionate pages of
history have been written and the chance to ride over the same
roads is enthralling. Riding the Dolomites will bring your
cycling to a new level, whether you’ve just begun riding or
are a seasoned veteran. It’s also good for the soul. Total
weekly mileage: approximately 500 to 600 kilometres. |

Veneto-Bassano del Grappa August 30 to September 6 |
|
Marostica |
|
$3000.00 |
|
|
The Veneto region is home to an incredible patrimony of
cultural and historical richness, you’re surrounded by it.
It’s also one of Italy’s most cycling intense regions, both in
terms of riders and the cycling industry itself. The area
around Marostica offers both flat country roads as well as
wonderful hills, terrain for all appetites. We are also close
enough to the mountains to make a foray into the Dolomites for
a days riding. Total weekly mileage: approximately 550 to 650
kilometres. |

Private Groups
Though there are five scheduled tours, sometimes the dates
don’t work out for you or you have specific requests regarding
touring in a certain area. Or you wish to create a tour with
friends or co-workers for a private tour. That can be done, in
fact it’s becoming a regular request lately. In order to do
this well it requires plenty of lead time, the sooner you
contact me the better. There isn’t necessarily a minimum
number of participants for private tours. Write me in order to
discuss your ideas. |

|
Note: All mileage totals are based on past experience, it
doesn’t mean that you must ride that much or little, that part
depends on your level of desire to be on the bike. Days off
are encouraged for tired riders and extra loops are always
available for those that can’t get enough. Plus, there’s
always the van close by for those who want a respite. |
